Career driven women becoming entrepreneurs, owning businesses and achieving high levels of success has come in leaps and bounds. Not only are they financially independent and stable, but they are doing what they love. Building careers around work that bring them meaning and purpose… tapping into their natural gifts, strengths and passions. It’s an exciting and empowering time full of opportunities for women!
It takes a lot of ambition, motivation, strength and time to build a successful career, and often, when you’re high-achieving and career driven, you may start to sacrifice other areas of your life. The desire to succeed professionally can push you to set aside your health, personal interests and time with family and friends. A highly stressful work life with long hours and little or no down time will inevitably impact your wellbeing—leaving you feeling stressed, anxious and disconnected from who you really are.

As we all know, it’s difficult to achieve all that’s needed to thrive in a demanding career without your health and wellbeing. So, it’s crucial that you practice self-care, making sure you stay on top of your physical, mental, spiritual and emotional needs, so you don’t experience chronic anxiety and stress which can lead to burnout. You might be superwoman, but you’re not a machine. It is imperative that you take breaks to rejuvenate your mind, body and spirit on a daily basis. Unplugging from work and finding the practices and activities that work for you are the key to a healthy work-life balance. There’s no cookie cutter plan, it’s a process of trial and error, a cycle of re-evaluation and improvement as your circumstances and priorities change and evolve.
